Dear Friends,
The Nicholas Wolff Foundation’s Board of Director’s top priority is the health and safety of our Campers, Counselors, Volunteers, and Staff. Because of this care, we have continued to closely monitor the news and events regarding COVID-19 over the past few weeks. And, we’ve been listening carefully to the thoughtful input of our Partner Groups and our board members.
In March, the Nicholas Wolff Foundation’s board made the very difficult decision to temporarily close and cancel all events for March and all of April and May. These cancellations through the end of May included all scheduled camps, volunteer groups, fund raisers, and our Greenwood Environmental Education Program for local school students.
The Executive Committee promised to meet again in mid-April to make decisions about the remainder of the 2020 camping season, and they did meet on April 17. Keeping the health and safety of everyone that loves Camp Victory and loves their camp experience here at Camp Victory, the Nicholas Wolff Foundation Executive Committee has made the heart breaking decision to not have any camping activities for the remainder of 2020. We are deeply aware that this decision is very sad news for everyone involved with Camp Victory……but, especially for our very special campers.
Although we know that we cannot replace all of the joy, fun and experiences that are part of physically being at camp, we have already been exploring ways to continue the mission, spirit, enthusiasm and activities of Camp Victory virtually through our Facebook page. We hope that in some small way this will enable our campers to stay connected and experience the spirit of Camp Victory.
We also look forward to collaborating with our Partner Group friends, in creating and sharing activities via social media that will help sustain the positive feelings and shared momentum for future seasons.
We look forward to the time when we can all be together again……the Nicholas Wolff Foundation Board of Directors is fully committed to our long-term camping program and we have full intentions of having a wonderful, amazing camping season in 2021!
While it seems impossible to imagine a summer without the sounds of joy and laughter at Camp, we know that Camp isn’t just a place….it’s a feeling that lives deep in the heart of every camper, counselor and staff member who ever experienced being part of the Camp Victory community.
Until we can be together again…..we wish you all love, peace and good health during these difficult times.
Yours in Camping,
The Nicholas Wolff Foundation Board of Directors and the Camp Victory Staff
